Hollybank House is a delightful Nursing and Residential care home, housed over 2 floors and set in the beautiful countryside of Oakerthorpe, Derbyshire. Many of the rooms are en-suite and all are decorated and furnished to a modern, but homely style.

The Home is set off the main Chesterfield Road and has good transport links available. It is surrounded by majestic gardens and large woodland areas. There is also a well renowned public house situated next door.

Our Home boasts an entrance conservatory with seating area, two large lounges, a large dining room and conservatory area with adjoined seated garden area.

There is a hairdressing salon and numerous bathrooms, including wet room showers and a newly appointed bathroom with state of the art hoisting equipment.

Natasha, our very passionate and caring Home Manager and her well established staffing team go over and beyond to personalise the experience of care and enhance the quality of life for all our residents. We are registered with Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide nursing and residential care for up to 45 individuals above the age of 65 years.

We have been inspected by independent organisations and are proud to announce that we have been awarded the following:

Derbyshire Country Council – ‘Derbyshire End-of-Life Quality Award’ awarded in recognition of our delivery of high quality End-of-life care.

Derbyshire County Council – ‘Derbyshire Dignity Campaign Award’ in recognition of work to promote dignity and respect.

Derbyshire County Council – ‘SILVER Active Care Home Mark’ in meeting ‘no falls’ standard.

NHS Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group  – ‘Certificate of Award’ for participation in a project to improve the nutrition of the frail elderly.

At Hollybank House, we firmly believe that the body and the mind are very closely linked and that keeping the body active, even for those who are perhaps less mobile than they once were, can also do wonders for their state of mind. As such, we have an Activities Team whose role it is to run a programme of pastimes to stimulate both body and mind.

We like to keep things varied, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy:

  • Live music and dancing
  • Bingo, quizzes, card games, arts & crafts
  • Local day trips
  • Reminiscence Therapy
  • Light aerobic exercise to music
  • Visits from local religious figures

We are also able to offer the following additional services:

  • Physiotherapy, Occupational and Speech Therapy
  • Podiatry
  • Aromatherapy & Reflexology
  • Hairdresser
  • Beautician
  • Library Services
  • Outings/Social Activities

At Hollybank House, we understand that good quality, nutritious food as an important component for health and well-being in all our residents’ lives.

The cuisine at the Home is all locally sourced and freshly prepared each day. Our chefs provide a varied and balanced menu and happily cater to special diets and preferences, where requested. Fresh fruit and vegetables from our local suppliers are offered daily.

All dishes are cooked on the premises in our well-equipped and clean kitchen. Drinks and snacks are also served throughout the day.

Residents can choose to enjoy the social aspect of mealtimes by taking their meals in our comfortable dining room or in the privacy of their own rooms if they so choose.

We have seasonal menus and also do special menus for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
